To meet the requirements of trained teachers for PVPS and other schools in Rawalakot, the Institute of Teacher Education (ITE) was initially set up adjacent to PVPS Rawalakot in July 2000. ITE Rawalakot conducted three diploma courses of 18 month duration under the supervision of volunteers from United Kingdom Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) and Australian Volunteer International (AVI). The first course in ITE Pakhowal was started on 5th October 2005 with intake of 28 trainee teachers. The faculty comprises Ms. Joan Atkinson, an ex VSO volunteer and Principal of PVPS and Director ITE Rawalakot who has volunteered to head the Soan Valley Public School and ITE Pakhowal during its formative years, Ms Jane Seekings, a VSO volunteer, Ms Suzanne Davies, an AVI volunteer and Mr. Jamil Ahmed an experienced master trainer. 19 of the 28 trainee teachers are availing the hostel facility.
