Success Story Pearl Valley Public School is part of pilot project of Kashmir Education Foundation. It is located at Rawalakot in Azad Kashmir for which a piece of land measuring over 3 acres was donated by the Trustees. The school started functioning from August 14, 1996. The school currently has classes upto eleventh grade. One class (4-5 year olds) is added each year. It is a non-residential day school where talented children from Rawalakot and surrounding villages covering an area of 200 square kilometers with a population of over 100,000 people are admitted on merit basis, with girls forming over half of the total number of students. Currently the school has 300 students including over 150 girls. Initially the teachers of Pearl Valley Public School were trained in Ali Institute of Teacher Training. In 2000, KEF set up an Institute of Teacher Education at Rawalakot to train graduate. arts and crafts room, gymnasium, auditorium and play grounds. The auditorium
and gymnasium were inaugurated on June 26, 2000. Pearl

80%)
while 11 secured A grade (over 70%). The School ranked 7th out of over 500
