Kashmir Education Foundation has set up a modern Teachers Training Institute with the Pearl Valley Public School, Rawalakot, and plans to shift it to a permanent location near Rawalpindi \ Islamabad, as part of Rawalpindi project. It will cater for the whole of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. Starting with 75 students, the Pearl Valley Institute of Teachers Education (PVITE) will ultimately train annually approximately 150 selected female graduates of high caliber for one and a half years' post graduate diploma course in primary education, in collaboration with Ali Institute of Teachers Training Lahore and Gloucester University, Cheltenham (UK). PVITE, which started in 2000 has successfully trained 16 female graduate students who were awarded diploma in primary education and have been employed in local schools at good salaries.
